Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

This page is published in English. If it is translated, the English version prevails.

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal data RK Autoelectricals collects when you visit our Website or deal with our showroom, why we collect it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who we are

RK Autoelectricals ("RK Autoelectricals", "we", "us" or "our") is an authorised dealer of electric scooties and e-rickshaws based in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, India. We operate the website www.rkautoelectricals.com (the "Website") and our showroom.

For the personal data described in this policy, we are the Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"): we decide why and how your data is used.

2. Scope

This policy covers personal data we collect through the Website, by phone, WhatsApp and email, and at our showroom when you enquire about, book or buy a vehicle from us. It is published under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it.

By submitting a form on the Website or sharing your details with us, you confirm that you have read this policy and consent to the use of your personal data as described here.

3. Personal data we collect

Information you give us

  • Vehicle enquiries (product pages, cart and checkout): your name, mobile number, email address (optional), city and state, the vehicles, variants and quantities you are interested in, and any message you add.
  • Contact form: your name, mobile number, email address (optional), city and your message.
  • When you book or buy (at the showroom or by phone): your address, the vehicle details on your quotation, booking and bill, and the documents needed for registration, insurance, finance and warranty — for example proof of identity and address, photographs and a driving licence where required.

Information collected automatically

  • Visit statistics: anonymous page-view counts (such as the page visited, browser, device type and country) that do not identify you and do not use cookies.
  • Technical logs: short-lived server logs (such as IP address and time of request) kept to keep the Website secure and working.

We do not take payments on the Website and never ask for card, UPI, bank or net-banking details online. Any booking amount is paid at our showroom, and you receive a receipt for it.

4. How we use your personal data

We use your personal data only for the purposes for which it was shared, namely to:

  • respond to your enquiry and contact you by phone call, SMS, WhatsApp or email about it;
  • prepare and send quotations, arrange test rides, and record bookings;
  • issue bills and invoices, deliver your vehicle, and arrange registration, insurance and finance you ask for;
  • register your warranty with the manufacturer and support you with service and warranty claims;
  • keep accounting, tax (including GST) and other records that the law requires us to keep;
  • keep the Website secure, prevent fraud and misuse, and understand how the Website is used so we can improve it; and
  • tell you about offers on vehicles you have shown interest in. You can ask us to stop these messages at any time and we will do so.

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that affects you.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only as far as needed with:

  • Service providers who host the Website, store our records and send our emails on our behalf. They may use your data only to provide that service to us.
  • Vehicle manufacturers whose vehicles we sell, for warranty registration, service and recalls.
  • Banks, NBFCs and insurers — only when you choose finance or insurance through us.
  • The Regional Transport Office (including the Vahan portal) for vehicle registration, where registration is required.
  • Government, police, courts or regulators when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

Some of this data may be stored on servers outside India, but never in a country the Government of India has restricted.

7. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and messages that do not lead to a purchase are kept only as long as needed to follow up with you, and are deleted once they are no longer needed for that purpose.
  • Bookings, bills and sale records are kept for as long as GST, tax, accounting and motor-vehicle laws require (currently up to about six years), and for warranty support during your vehicle's warranty period.

When you ask us to erase your data, we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it, in which case we keep only what the law requires and use it for no other purpose.

8. How we protect it

We use reasonable security safeguards, including encrypted connections and staff access limited to what each person's job needs, to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, misuse, loss or disclosure.

No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform the people affected and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

9. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it, and the people we have shared it with;
  • Correct, complete or update personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Erase personal data that is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it;
  • Withdraw consent you have given, as easily as you gave it;
  • Grievance redressal — complain to our Grievance Officer and receive a response; and
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in the event of your death or incapacity.

To use any of these rights, contact our Grievance Officer (see the last section). We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We aim to respond within 30 days and will in any case respond within the time the law allows.

You also have duties under the DPDP Act: please give us accurate information, do not impersonate anyone, and do not file false or frivolous complaints. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

10. Children

The Website is meant for adults (18 years and above). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Vehicles for a child must be enquired about and bought by a parent or lawful guardian. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us, please contact us and we will delete it. Where we must process a child's data, we will do so only with verifiable consent of the parent or lawful guardian, as Section 9 of the DPDP Act requires.

11. Cookies and browser storage

The Website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your language choice and cart are saved only in your own browser and reach us only if you submit an enquiry. Clearing your browsing data removes them.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when the law or our services change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. If a change significantly affects how we use your personal data, we will tell you on the Website or contact you directly before it takes effect where required. Please read it together with our Terms of Use.
